Musomesa

LEO gets you in. Musomesa takes it from there.

Musomesa is Forward's named learning companion for enrolled students: daily briefings, teach-back marking, and proactive check-ins, with published honesty about where it gets things wrong.

"Once you enrol, my colleague Musomesa takes over your learning. I've handled your application, your essay drafts, your questions about programmes. Musomesa picks up from there with everything I know about you, and stays with you for the daily work of studying."

LEO, the Forward Lion

What Musomesa does

Four jobs, every day of term

Daily briefing

A short, personal readout every morning of what today's study actually requires.

  • What's due in the next 48 hours, ranked by effort not just deadline.
  • One line on how yesterday's teach-back went and what to revisit.
  • A nudge if a co-op or Core deadline is approaching.

Teach-back

You explain the concept back to Musomesa; it marks the explanation, not a multiple-choice guess.

  • Forces recall instead of re-reading notes.
  • Flags the exact gap in your explanation, not just 'wrong'.
  • Every teach-back is logged so your lecturer can see where the class collectively struggles.

Proactive check-ins

Musomesa messages first when your pattern changes, it doesn't wait to be asked.

  • Missed two consecutive teach-backs? It asks what's going on before a grade does.
  • Study time collapsing in week 6? It surfaces the co-op tutor, not a generic tip.
  • You can mute check-ins, but Forward publishes how often students choose to.

Essay coach handoff from LEO

LEO helped you apply. Once you enrol, your drafts, questions and context move to Musomesa.

  • Nothing you told LEO during admissions is lost; Musomesa reads your application context.
  • Essay and assignment coaching continues under Musomesa's marking rubric, not LEO's.
  • One companion per phase of your Forward life: LEO before you arrive, Musomesa once you're here.

Published honesty

We publish where Musomesa's marking disagrees with human panels

Musomesa's teach-back marking will be sampled monthly against a human academic panel, with the agreement rate published on /outcomes from the founding intake's first term.

Any teach-back where Musomesa and the human panel disagree is flagged automatically. The student is told, the mark defaults to the more generous of the two, and the case is added to the published disagreement log.

Musomesa never issues a final grade alone. It marks formative teach-backs and drafts; summative assessment is always human-reviewed.

This is a founding-intake commitment: the first published figures will come from real students, not a pilot in a lab.
