Campus

Built in sequence, not in promises.

Three phases, each published with its real status. Where a building is an intention rather than a funded contract, this page says so.

One walkable spine

Every building sits within a seven-minute walk of the Central Spine. Schools are deliberately interleaved along it so that engineering, health and arts students share circulation instead of occupying separate compounds.

Rooms shaped by assessment

Because Forward assesses built and produced work, the estate is weighted towards laboratories, studios and workshops rather than tiered lecture halls. Teaching rooms are flat-floored and reconfigurable.

Metered and published

Energy, water and waste on the Phase One buildings are metered from commissioning, and the readings are intended for the public accountability page rather than an internal report.

Built in sequence, not in promises

Each phase is published with its real status. Where a building is a master-plan intention rather than a funded contract, it says so on this page.

The estate, phase by phase

What exists, what is designed, what is planned.

Phase One. Teaching Core at Forward University
Under constructionOpens with the founding intake

Phase One. Teaching Core

The buildings the first cohort will actually use on day one: teaching floors, laboratories, the library spine and student services. Nothing in Phase One depends on later fundraising.

  • Academic Tower, flat-floor teaching rooms sized for studio work rather than lecture theatres
  • Instrumented laboratories for computing, electronics, materials and environmental measurement
  • Library and Study Spine running the length of the Central Spine walkway
  • Student services hub: registry, wellbeing, co-op placement office
  • Roof-mounted solar arrays feeding the teaching load first
Phase Two. The Edge at Forward University
Design completeConstruction follows the founding intake

Phase Two. The Edge

The timber-and-glass building that puts enterprise and cooperative education physically inside the campus, so employers, founders and students share the same floors.

  • Co-op and employer floor with permanent desks for placement partners
  • Venture studio and fabrication workshop open to every School
  • Cross-laminated timber structure with a glazed south-facing atrium
  • Assessment rooms for the Forward Core enterprise requirement
Phase Three, Forward Theater & Residences at Forward University
Master planSequenced after Phase Two, subject to review

Phase Three, Forward Theater & Residences

The public-facing half of the campus: a performance and convening venue in an organic copper shell, plus the first residential halls. Named in the master plan, not yet costed to construction.

  • Forward Theater, copper-clad performance and convening hall
  • First residential halls with ground-floor learning commons
  • Sports and recreation fields on the eastern edge
  • Public plaza connecting the Theater to the Central Spine

No student has walked this campus yet.

Forward is pre-launch. Energy, water and waste readings for the Phase One buildings will be published on the accountability page from commissioning, alongside live applicant and cooperative-education numbers.
